The Records unit is responsible for maintaining the KU Office of Public Safety’s police reports and the release of these records. The records are paper and are disseminated within departmental, state, and federal guidelines.

The Records unit's hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

To get a copy of a police report or to contact the Records unit, please call 785-864-5900. Report copies cost $0.25 per page, with more extensive reports having a retrieval fee charged by the hour. The Records unit only accepts cash, check, or money orders for report copies. Debit and credit cards are not accepted.

If you should need assistance in obtaining a copy of a report, please email Elizabeth Phillips at lphillips@ku.edu.
